I love this meter but live in a home with “no” deep shade for a possible calibration shoot location.

Cal would be easy if the DTS software did not require lighting conditions to be at ‘full’ stops in terms of measured f stop and shutter speed. A very nice man from Sekonic said full stops are required for accurate calibration but I’m skeptical and think he may be incorrect.

Ideas on how to shoot calibration shots would be welcome. How do you actually hold up the target without taping your expensive paper target to something and are people doing something besides searching for EXACT light conditions to occur in full stop values?

Also, Joe’s videos are just terrific. He does a great job.

Set light meter to full stops. Take a reading. If meter shows 5.6 7/10 set the camera to closest setting (5.6 and 2/3 = 7.1) Just keep your shutter speed at full stops.
