Matching Your Meter to Your Camera with Mark Wallace

Why doesn’t your light meter match your camera?

In this episode of AdoramaTV, Mark Wallace answers just that question using the Sekonic L-358, one of our most popular meters.

Different cameras measure light differently. Some work in full stops, others in thirds, and still others in halves. If your camera is measuring in thirds but your meter is measuring in full stops, such as in Mark’s example, determining the correct exposure can be more confusing than it needs to be. Mark demonstrates how to change the settings on your meter “to make sure your meter matches your camera so you can get quick and accurate measurements every single time.”
